As a first time mom, I felt an immense amount of anxiety around the idea of labor and birth. The vast amount of unknowns, the fear that I wouldn't be able to handle whatever my body threw my way or that I wouldn't be able to navigate the stages of labor or questions at the hospital made it easy to become overwhelmed. Without family nearby, I knew I would need someone to support and guide my partner and I through this new, exciting, nerve-wracking stage of our birth journey. We strongly felt having a Doula by our side would give us the confidence and support we'd need to bring our son into the world, and we literally could not have asked for a better ally in our birth than Mariya.Â
In everything she does, Mariya brings an immense amount of compassion, knowledge, empathy, and calming positivity. She genuinely cared about supporting our birth plan and diligently answered all of our questions, ensuring we felt heard, understood, and prepared. When the day came to deliver my son, Mariya was with us every step of the way. From physical support (counter pressure, compresses, helping me eat/drink) to emotional encouragement (helping me understand what was happening, words of affirmation) we knew we were in the best hands.Â
Mariya knew I wanted to try for an unmedicated labor and supported me, guiding us through each wave of contractions until it was time to go to the hospital. Once there, she was a constant reassurance and stayed with us until our son was born. She documented our birth, helped us during skin-to-skin, and once we brought him home, was our night doula during the first grueling weeks of adjusting to a newborn with no sleep.Â
I cannot overstate how utterly invaluable Mariya's support was to us -- she truly felt like our champion, a constant source of reassurance, generosity, and positivity, and I know my birth experience was positive in large part because of her support. We consider ourselves extremely lucky to have had Mariya on this journey with us, and will be forever grateful to her!

She does prenatal visits and explains her role and support very clearly. She made me feel very comfortable throughout the entire process.
She decorated my home and labor room with soothing light, sound and scent during my labor process to help me feel calm. She has great pearls of knowledge to lead you through the entire labor process. She empowered me to have the perfect birth for me and my baby.

Hiring Mariya was the best choice we made in our pregnancy. She was the advocate we needed. She was strong when we were hurting (my wife physically, and me emotionally).
She was incredibly knowledgeable about everything and made our birthing experience as comfortable as possible for a 50 hour labor. Mariya was with us for 31 straight hours and was nothing but supportive and encouraging.
I appreciate her massaging and squeezing my wife’s hips when I was tired and for helping us sort out food throughout too.
